Token is a conceptual project to showcase the digital content of Umeå University Library, in Sweden.

Umeå University Library wanted to promote its digital collection to students, and our idea was to add a physical touch-sensitive display located at the library. Beside the display, there would be small objects that indicated different topics related to the digital content offered. We decided to call these small objects Tokens. Library visitors would grab the Token related to the subject of interest and place it on top of the touch-screen. The screen would read the placed Token and display the content related to that topic. After navigating the different options and opening articles or books of interest, the user could use a QR code to read the content on a personal device.
